The team of MSL Germany has secured the support of Wolfgang Büchner. The experienced journalist and media manager joined the agency, which is part of Publicis Groupe Germany, as Senior Advisor on April 1, 2021. Büchner will advise MSL clients with a focus on corporate communications and crisis communications.

"Wolfgang Büchner is a great asset to our team. In a warm-up period that started in mid-January, he showed that he not only improves storytelling for our clients, but also offers our clients guidance, especially in complex situations. I am therefore very pleased that he is now firmly supporting our corporate and crisis communications team in this very important growth phase. After an outstanding year in 2020, which proved positive for us as an agency with a growth of 29 percent, our out look for 2021 remains bullish," says Wigan Salazar, CEO of MSL in Germany.

" After more than 30 exciting years in journalism, I have been talking with friends and colleagues over the past year to figure out what other jobs might excite me. Among others, I had a long chat with former Financial Times editor Andrew Gowers, who also joined the field of communications years ago. Andrew said the beautiful phrase: 'It's oddly satisfying to be on the pitch and not only on the stands.' My first projects at MSL have fully confirmed this description. The perspective on the pitch is at least as exciting as the view from the press gallery," says Wolfgang Büchner.

Before starting his own business, Büchner was Chief Content Officer at Madsack Mediengruppe until the beginning of 2019, as well as editor-in-chief and managing director of RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND). Before that, Büchner was editor-in-chief of Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa), editor-in-chief of Der Spiegel and SpiegelOnline, and managing director of the Blick Group of the Swiss media group Ringier.

Wolfgang Büchner will continue his consulting mandate for the German liberal party FDP independently of his work at MSL.
