Johan Björkstén

Johan is Chairman of MSL China, one of China's leading local strategic PR consultancies and founded Eastwei MSL which in November 2011 united with MSL China. Johan is a China PR veteran having spent more than 20 years in the region. Fluent in Chinese, he has worked for eight years in the media industry as a radio and TV host, doing more than 400 of his own weekly programs. Through Johan's industry experience, Eastwei MSL has built strong relationships with key Chinese broadcast and print media.

Johan is one of the best-known and most respected Swedish businessmen in China; he was one of the founders of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China, which in 2010 granted him lifetime honorary membership for outstanding contributions during 12 years of service on the Chamber Board. He has written a number of books, including the Chinese-language PR, Chinese Style and several textbooks on China and the Chinese language, as well as coauthoring Catching Up Fast: PR and Marketing in a Web 2.0 China. His most recent book is the bestselling general business handbook How to Manage a Successful Business in China.

Johan has a Master's degree (Fil. Lic.) in Physical Chemistry from the University of Uppsala, Sweden.
