Paris, 29 August 2012: MSLGROUP, Publicis Groupe's strategic communications and engagement network, today announced that effective September 10th, company veteran Renee Wilson will become President of its North America operations. In her new position, Wilson will be responsible for driving the firm's growth strategy in the US and Canada. Wilson, a leading figure in the industry and award-winning innovator has been a brand champion and trusted advisor to some of the world's leading companies including P&G, GM, Bayer, Kellogg's and Tiffany.
"Renee has been part of our strategic succession plan for many years. Indeed her global perspective and previous experience as both Chief Client Officer for the network, and Managing Director of the flagship New York office, make her the ideal executive to lead our operations in North America," commented MSLGROUP CEO, Olivier Fleurot. "As the home to many of the firm's largest global clients, North America's contribution is vital to our global expansion and growth."
Wilson takes over from Jim Tsokanos who, after 11 years, has decided to leave MSLGROUP to move to a more entrepreneurial venture. Having held several roles at MSLGROUP during his tenure - from running the Atlanta business, then Managing Director of the New York office, to today President of the Americas - Jim has proven to be a creative, innovative and dynamic executive. His efforts were especially important with regard to MSLGROUP's evolution from 17 separate operations into a new network offering strategic communications, public relations, creative, content, social/digital as well as experiential and international events. This includes the acquisition of Schwartz MSL and the development of the company's growing Latin America network.
"We accomplished a lot together," said Fleurot. "With the network transformation near complete, Jim felt this was the right time to pursue a new challenge that brings him closer to clients and meets his entrepreneurial passions. We have been discussing this for some time and worked on a transition together."
Wilson is currently MSLGROUP's Chief Client Officer. Having recently launched MSLGROUP's global client engagement process and team - helping to best leverage the network's worldwide talents and resources on behalf of its clients - she will work with Fleurot to hand over management of the programme, transitioning out of the CCO role in the coming weeks.
Going forward, the network's operation in Latin America, which has significant growth prospects, will continue to be managed by Paulo Andreoli, CEO of Andreoli MSL Brazil, who will now report directly to Olivier Fleurot. Together they will focus on expanding MSLGROUP's operations in the region through acquisitions and organic growth.
